Spikes time with us came to the end of the line today. He likely had bone cancer in his hind legs and he was rapidly losing the battle. He declined greatly over the past couple weeks and in particular since last Sunday. He had lost all function of his right hind and his left hind was almost done...........It was just time..........Fortunately I had about an hour and a half before the vet came to the farm to give him the "Cool Aid". I used that time to give him his last ride in his favorite truck. He would ride on or in everything I had. But the M-37 was his favorite..........I will miss you big dog.

So sorry to hear about Spike. I wish dogs lived longer. Cupid has Cancer and scooter is just old. I hate it.

Dogs are so tough. So damn tough.

Hey Jolly.... My pups are getting old. I have a 13 year old Lab and an 11 year old Border Collie. I fear that this could be my last year.. but who knows? Seeing the pics of your pup in the truck really hit home for me because I used to always take my lab wheeling. Then my dumb ass cut my Jeep in half to make it more of a wheeler and I haven't been able to take him out. I have a question for you.... How do you know when it is time? My lab seems happy, can still go up the stairs. Last year he almost drowned, so now I put a jacket on him. But he smiles and stuff....?? I have had to put puppy mats on the floor in the basement as he cannot make it a full work day for me without having to re leave himself.


Club members: I really want to take him in a Jeep this summer. Can we go to your choice of trail (preferably an easier one so he doesn't get knocked around)? You can drive my rig and do whatever you want on the trail, if I can drive yours with my good old puppy in it. If there are any problems with your rig, inside or out, I will take care of it. I want to see my guy smiling on the trail, so I can remember it. Can anyone oblige?
